Back in the day we would drive around looking at houses at decide by the curb appeal whether we would go in. Now we are swiping on the MLS listing or Realtor.com on the exterior picture whether to go any further. These first impressions matter! Whether selling or dwelling they matter.

Did you know that there are actually 3-4 colors besides the body color on home when considering an exterior refresh? There’s trim, windows and shutters and don’t forget the front door. The front door ought to be more than attractive; it must be cohesive with the color palette.

A simple and easy way to give your curb appeal a refresh is to paint. Here are my 5 best front door paint colors.

Pair it with: for a classic feel pair it with a classic white house. Personally, I have a black door on my yellow home which really grounds the light body and sets it apart from my neighbors yellow home.

Pair it: This is the most classically chosen front door. My neighbor’s yellow colonial has a red front door, forest green shutters and white trim. It’s historical meaning is that people are welcome. During the Civil War the Underground Railroad used red door to signify a safe house.
